In Greene County district court Nichole Michelle Onnen, 32, of Des Moines was sentenced Sept. 23 to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for two years. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. The court determined Onnen is unable to pay $500 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $362.99. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Michael Eugene Hamilton, 39, of Grand Junction was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge on a charge of assault- simple, amended from domestic abuse assault- second offense. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined and $137.50 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Ryan James Brown, 44, of Jefferson was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge after he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- fourth degree, amended from criminal mischief- second degree. He must also pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge, $1,200 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees, and $438.19 restitution to Wild Rose Casino. Court costs were $121. David Joseph Hedke, 18, of Carroll was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- first offense. He was placed on informal probation for one year. He must pay a civil penalty of $315, a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge, restitution for his court appointed attorney to be determined, and $100 court costs. A companion case in magistrate court in which Hedke was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs were $60 in that case. (Sentencing: Kester)
Troy Angelo McGee, 47, of Fort Dodge was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge; both were suspended. The court determined he is unable to pay $1,500 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. He must pay a $125 LEI surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and $220.98 court costs. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. No disposition was entered on charges of eluding while participating in a felony and possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense. A companion case in which McGee was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs were $60 in that case. (Sentencing: Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Fashion Marie Foster, 41, of Perry, theft- fourth degree; Robby Joe Anthofer, 48, of Coon Rapids, possession of methamphetamine; Jay Dean Forkner, 56, of Scranton, theft- third degree; and Donald Gene Wallace, 78, of Churdan, driving while license revoked. Trial dates were set for Dec. 13 in every case.
